Helping the travel industry to bounce back
It has been a challenging few months for everyone as we come to terms with the ‘new normal’ following the global pandemic. The travel industry is undoubtedly one of the hardest to be hit during this extraordinary time and it has become clear that travel and tourism can no longer work in isolation. In order for the industry to survive, both destinations and brands must embrace cross-sector collaboration like never before, which is why I am happy to say that FINN Partners has introduced the Global Travel Recovery Network. The network will act as a clinic that enables us to share cross-practice expertise to offer our insight and unrivalled expertise internationally, to help destinations and brands go beyond recovery and to thrive once more in a post-global lockdown world.
Travel will return; however, the ideologies, pace and processes will have changed which is why it is extremely important for destinations, hotels, airlines and tour operators to begin incorporating a holistic, multi-industry MarCom approach. For travel to rebuild, brands and destinations need to look at travel via alternative disciplines to build an integrated offering which will in turn regain consumer’s trust. The strategy will help to accelerate the recovery as well as enact resilience initiatives which take into consideration the impact that other business sectors have on tourism, particularly with those that have been at the forefront during COVID-19, such as health, public affairs, technology and many others.
We have created the Global Travel Recovery Network to offer strategic counsel and marketing services to help those in the travel industry to recover from the impact of COVID-19 as well as accelerate past that. At FINN Partners we have an abundance of insights including digital travel understandings, communications and creative services to help aid the process of recovery. The network is based within our international Travel & Lifestyle practice and the new service features leading experts to offer guidance. Our team of experts includes FINN Partners’ own health, digital marketing, technology, sustainability, public affairs, and diversity practices, as well as travel industry partners from Jacobs Media Group, Beautiful Destinations and Leading Culture Destinations to ensure a comprehensive, cross-sector approach.
The specialists are led by myself, Global Travel Practice Lead; Virginia M. Sheridan, Managing Partner, North America Travel; and Cathy Feliciano-Chon, Founder and Managing Director, Asia Travel and includes additional expertise from our 800 plus experts across all sectors.
Having worked in the tourism industry for 35 years I have seen the abundance of possibilities and opportunities available and I am truly excited to be able to help those within the sector to find their feet and once again see the industry thrive to its full potential.
